- Since September 1, 2021, Grammer suppliers have been planting a tree for every new order they receive
- Worldwide "Grammer Forest" makes active contribution to CO2 reduction
- One of many steps on Grammer's path to becoming a Green Company
Grammer AG, September 9, 2021 – It is a project with great symbolic power that actively contributes to the reduction of CO2: Since September 1, 2021, Grammer has obligated its worldwide suppliers to plant a tree for each new order - the so-called Nomination Tree. This will be planted on the supplier's property or in the supplier's community after Grammer has made the commitment. "We are thrilled with this idea from our Global Supply Chain Team," says Jens Öhlenschläger, Chief Operating Officer of Grammer AG. "The Nomination Tree is more than a symbol. Each of these newly planted trees will contribute to a healthier local environment. I am particularly pleased that our suppliers worldwide are involved. In this way, we are showing that when we work together, we can make a difference. So perhaps our Nomination Tree can also be a signal to other companies to start similar initiatives."
The Nomination Tree is just one of many steps Grammer is taking on its way to becoming a Green Company. The company uses this term to describe its ambitious goal of reducing its CO2 emissions worldwide by at least 50 percent by 2030. The new project shows that this is a real team effort that not only involves all Grammer employees, but also extends far beyond the company's own boundaries. To make this clear, the planting of the Nomination Trees is tracked and information about them is provided at the sites for visitors and employees. The message is that if you combine corporate growth with the right values, it has a positive impact on the environment. Öhlenschläger: "We are very much looking forward to seeing the 'Grammer Forest' grow around the world."
