Grammer AG, November 13, 2023 – At Agritechnica 2023 in Hanover, Grammer will be presenting its new driver seat for agricultural machinery, the MSG 297/2900, for the first time to the public. More precisely, it is a combination of the patented new MSG 297 suspension system and the S2900 seat top. Both have been developed from scratch and now bring the seating comfort familiar from premium passenger car models to agricultural and construction machinery. Like all Grammer seats, the all-electric MSG 297/2900 remains an efficient operating tool and, in addition to “Ultimate Comfort”, offers all the possibilities of digital networking, maximum functionality and the best quality for long durability.
“With the MSG 297/2900, we are expanding the program for our OEM customers in the international markets with a comprehensive solution for comfort and functionality based on our latest driver seat technologies,” explains Thomas Schleuchardt, Senior Vice President Global Sales Commercial Vehicles, Grammer AG. “The basis for what we call ‘Ultimate Comfort’ is our double-roll suspension. It offers the perfect balance of maximum friction minimization and reduced play. No matter how uneven the surface - thanks to the new suspension and automatic weight adjustment, the MSG 297/2900 offers a safe and comfortable ride for all types of drivers. Its construction is also designed for heavy multifunctional armrests and attachments that make everyday work easier.”
This basis, the underlying design of the newly developed seat, is complemented by a wide range of features. They make the MSG 297/2900 a high-end product with which users are ideally equipped for the challenges of modern agriculture:
- Fully electric ten-way seat adjustment: height, backrest, forward/backward, depth/tilt seat cushion via one control element. Ergonomically positioned, easy to reach and intuitive to operate.
- Memory function: get in and restore the individually selected seat alignment at the touch of a button. Three memory positions.
- Adjustable side contour of the backrest: using an easy-to-reach switch, chambers in the backrest can be filled with air to keep the upper body stable when cornering or on a lateral incline.
- Multi-stage seat heating and seat climate control: state-of-the-art technology, just like in a car. Operated via buttons on the seat, with LED status display.
- Massage system: A two-chamber system in the seat surface ensures movement in the pelvis and lumbar spine. Six chambers in the back cushion massage the back muscles. This keeps the driver fit even during long periods of sitting, provides relaxation, and reduces stress levels.
- Ready for digitalization thanks to CAN bus connection: settings and seat status can be operated/called up via customer-specific vehicle displays. Simple seat diagnostics via vehicle electronics.
- Dualmotion backrest for short backs: upper half of the backrest rotates when looking backwards over the shoulder. Ideal for agricultural machinery.
- Integrated two-, three- and four-point belt systems for seats with long backrests: secure the driver ideally in the seat for maximum safety. Maximum comfort is guaranteed by the Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR), which only closes in an emergency so that the belt gives way during “normal” movements.
- Automatic weight adjustment (can be switched off): Not every driver is the same. The MSG 297/2900 automatically adjusts the suspension perfectly for every body weight. Of course, this function can be switched off and the suspension can be individually adjusted depending on the riding situation and terrain.
